Panama, it was
a privilege

Visiting the Embera Indigenous Village
We had the privilege of exploring a different side of Panama by visiting the Embera Indian Village. Our journey involved a scenic half-hour ride along the river, surrounded by the vibrant jungle and the sounds of pelicans, monkeys, and crocodiles. The hospitality of the Embera people was heartwarming, and we enjoyed a delicious fish lunch while appreciating the opportunity to purchase stunning local artwork.

Panama City, a modern megapolis
On the Pacific side, Panama City stands out as a vibrant megapolis, often referred to as the "Dubai of Latin America." With its banks, casinos, and luxury hotels, it’s a bustling hub that we won’t encounter again for some time.

Through the Panama Canal
We successfully navigated the Panama Canal over two days, an incredible experience that took us through five locks. The saying “what goes up must come down” truly applied as we made our way from the Atlantic to the Pacific. We spent the night on a mooring buoy in Gatun Lake alongside the vessel Cloud Shadow, where a few beers were exchanged between our boats. On our final day, we rafted up with two monohulls, Amari and Island Wonderer, safely double-banked on either side. Thanks to excellent maneuvers, we completed our transit through the Panama Canal successfully!
