Deo Juvante harnesses the power of SeaKite propulsion
A world-first in hybrid yachting
Deo Juvante is proud to be the very first motoryacht equipped with the SeaKite propulsion system — a 25m² automated traction kite developed and installed by Beyond the Sea in France. By harnessing the wind, this pioneering technology reduces engine load, improves fuel efficiency, and lowers the yacht’s environmental footprint. For founder Thierry, who has owned six sailing yachts before Deo Juvante, it was the perfect way to bring sail power back into a motoryacht.
Innovation backed by sailing legends
The SeaKite project was born from a friendship and a shared passion for innovation. When legendary offshore sailor Yves Parlier — three-time Vendée Globe competitor and sustainable tech pioneer — introduced the idea, Thierry didn’t hesitate to sign the very first SeaKite contract. Installed during the yacht’s build in New Zealand and later tested extensively in Japan and Alaska, the system has already proven itself in demanding conditions, from heavy headwinds to fog and open-ocean passages.
Performance that redefines possibilities
The SeaKite offers both efficiency and excitement:
- 25m² kite (with a 50m² version also onboard) flying at 70m in static or dynamic figure-8 mode
- Operational in 15–40 knots, at wind angles of 90°–180°
- Fully automated with manual and autopilot options
- Achieved 4.5 knots under kite power alone, with potential up to 7 knots
- Up to 30% fuel savings in ideal conditions
With its four-winch kite box system and seamless integration, the SeaKite isn’t just an accessory — it’s a true hybrid propulsion system that represents the future of sustainable yachting.
