The evolution of the Deo Juvante naval architecture

Deo Juvante founder and designer Thierry Verstraete looks back at the development of the brand’s explorer yacht range and the ideas that shaped each model along the way. The journey began with the C24, the first yacht developed in close collaboration with LOMOcean Naval Architects — a partnership that played a crucial role in defining the balance between design vision and naval architecture.

As the first model in the fleet, the C24 established the foundation for everything that followed. It set the boundaries for performance, layout and functionality, while translating real-world cruising experience into a yacht designed for long-range exploration and life at sea.

With the development of the M24, the design process became more refined. The collaboration was already well established, allowing the focus to shift toward the yacht’s general arrangement and interior spaces. This stage of the project explored how onboard life could become even more fluid and comfortable, while maintaining the same explorer DNA.

The newest model, the TS40, represents a major evolution of the concept. Designed as a high-performance cruising explorer capable of speeds around 20 knots and true ocean crossings, it also introduces significantly increased interior volume and liveability. Many of its practical features — from storage solutions to circulation and social areas — draw directly from more than six years of full-time life aboard Deo Juvante.

Across the entire range, the philosophy remains the same: yachts shaped by experience, designed for long-range exploration, and adaptable to each owner’s vision through personalised materials and finishes. The result is a fleet that continues to evolve while staying true to its original purpose — enabling meaningful journeys beyond the horizon.
